Throwing Star Push Toy

During my Toy Product Design class, I made a throwing star push toy, which is a wooden toy that features a throwing star that rotates freely while the toy rolls.

I started out sketching what it should look like, and after some planning, I decided to make the throwing star from two pieces of cherry wood that were glued together. After cutting the stands, axles, chassis, and star, I rounded out all the edges with sandpaper and gave the wood a natural finish with mineral oil. Finally, I found approximately where the center of mass was for the throwing star and mounted it on an axle that sat on the toy so the star could spin freely.
